Slimming World offers a mixture of a diet and support from attending a group. The Slimming World diet is based on what they call 'food optimising'.
Foods are split into groups, and on any one day you can eat as much as you want from two of these groups but little or nothing from a third. Slimming World also suggest additional healthy options, to be eaten in specific restricted quantities.
Slimming World gives members comprehensive lists of foods in the particular groups, including branded products. There are also a magazine and numerous books available.
There has been no published research into the long-term effectiveness of the Slimming World diet.
Don't forget: if you decide to follow a particular diet and lose weight, then go back to the old habits that made you overweight in the first place, you will become overweight again.
Weight Concern does not receive any funding from manufacturers or retailers of any commercial weight loss programme.
